For the start of the day

God of the dawning,God of the the first snowdrop, God of conception, God of new beginnings: may I start this day in the knowledge of your love for me so that all I think and do may spring from the freshness of my new birth, in partnership with you and my brothers and sisters, Amen.

In the midst of responsibilities

When you threw me into this day, great God, you trusted me to do your will. You have given me your guidance and the support of your spirit, and you do trust me to get on with it. May I respond with hard work, patience, wisdom and determination to be worthy of your trust, knowing that nobody else can give what you ask of me, Amen

For the end of the day

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life." Gracious God, how glad I am that you sweep up behind me. At the end of this day I am aware of so much left undone, so much done imperfectly, things ill-done and done to others' harm, that I need the reassurance that you are behind me as well before me, and that your mercy is forever available. I rest my life in yours. Amen
