An Advent Prayer

Hope of history,and our hope,
Thou so small, yet so large,
So fragile, yet so strong.
Draw near and prepare us
To honour what the world thinks small,
The weak, expendable and the damned.
Prepare for the new Jerusalem,
By way of Bethlehem, and show us the way.
